The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association and musician-songwriter Brenn Hill are teaming up
once again this Holiday Season to offer you a special promotion! For the months of December and January, Brenn will donate a portion of all CD sales from his website to USCA. Brenn is a true voice of the West and a staunch supporter of production agriculture. Brenn sees this partnership as a way to give back to all of the hard working producers that USCA represents. USCA Continues to Advocate for Rural Broadband Access

Recently, the U.S. Cattleman’s Association participated in a fall fly-in to Washington D.C. One element of this event served as a gathering of organizations, groups, and citizens who shared the common goal: focusing policymaker’s attention on the need for high-speed broadband internet access.
Many rural areas through the country still lack access to this technology, often taken for granted by those who are used to quality service. Many members of the U.S. Cattleman’s Association operate in rural parts across the nation. For them, being connected is a necessity. From keeping abreast of stock and feed prices, to being able to contact someone in an emergency, the benefits of internet connectivity are many and varied.

Just this week, Professors John Mayo and Jeffrey Macher, of the Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy, presented their paper entitled “Achieving Rural Universal Service in a Broadband Era: Emergent Evidence from the Evolution of Telephone Demand” which highlights the importance of Universal Service, especially within rural communities. According to Professor Mayo, our country seems to be quickly heading toward a future of wireless telephony, which could be beneficial for all but particularly for rural America. Wireless communication allows typically isolated areas to connect no matter the distance. In the research and in a recent presentation, the professors advocated for policies, chief among them a public/private sector partnership, to ensure rural communities have the ability to access wireless communications technologies which could in turn increase rural sector demand.

As evidenced by our efforts and recent activities in Washington D.C, we fully support the call for high-speed broadband access in rural and underserved areas.

Welcome to USCA's Virtual Library
on cattle industry issues.

The United States Cattlemen's Association is a membership organization working for the grassroots cattle producer.

Some of the issues we are focusing on are:

  • Implementation of mandatory country-of-origin labeling
  • Keeping animal identification a voluntary system
  • Addressing antitrust issues and market competition
  • Protecting private property rights
  • Reforming the national mandatory beef checkoff program
  • Ensuring that U.S. cattle producers have a strong voice in international trade policy
  • Maintaining a strong presence in Washington DC to help shape policy beneficial to the U.S. cattle producer.
