L-R: George Yost, Gene Phillips and Joyce Phillips.

USCA (March 18, 2015) – The United States Cattlemen’s Association (USCA) and Nutra-Lix, Inc. continued their long-standing partnership this past month with the annual drawing of a custom saddle. The annual drawing, held courtesy of Nutra-Lix, Inc. and Yost Saddle Company, took place at the Montana Agri-Tradeshow and Exhibition. This year’s winner was announced at the trade show and Gene Phillips of Hot Springs, South Dakota has since been awarded with the custom saddle.

Gene and Joyce Phillips, long-time members of USCA, embody the spirit of the U.S. cattle producer and remain engaged in the industry since passing along their family commercial cattle operation to their son Scott and his family.

Phillips shared his heartfelt thanks to both USCA and Nutra-Lix, Inc. A true cowboy, Phillips grew up ranching and rodeoing. He spent his earlier life calf roping and heeling for the simple fact that he could use one horse to do both events. It was a great wish of his to win a saddle. Years ago, Phillips missed out on an all-around saddle by $2.00. This time luck went his way when his name was drawn for Yost saddle. Phillips has stated that he will donate the saddle to a local youth rodeo in order to share his passion for the industry and the sport with the next generation, “Those kids are the future of our industry, it’s good if we can give them a chance to be successful,” said Phillips.

USCA President Danni Beer congratulated Gene on his win, “I can think of no one better to win this year’s drawing. Gene and Joyce represent why we are here today as an organization and their continued commitment to USCA, the industry and our youth is inspiring.”

“USCA thanks Nutra-Lix, Inc. for their continued support of the U.S. cattle producer and we look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.”
