USCA (October 25, 2007) - The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association (USCA) is set to host two cattle producer meetings in Montana next week that will include an evening meal compliments of USCA.
Featured speakers for both meetings are Leo McDonnell, Columbus, MT, USCA Director Emeritus; Chuck Kiker, Beaumont, TX, USCA Director Region 5; and Jess Peterson, Washington, DC, USCA Director of Government Affairs.
On Monday, October 29, ranchers are invited to Fort Rockvale, MT at 6:00 p.m. for a social hour, followed by a roast beef dinner buffet at 7:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, October 30, ranchers are invited to the Miles City, MT Elks Club for a 6:00 p.m. social and 7:00 p.m. prime rib dinner.
McDonnell, Kiker and Peterson will update ranchers on current industry issues, policy developments on Capitol Hill and how the U.S. Cattlemen’s Association is working to represent independent producers on key issues. The U.S. Cattlemen’s Beef Checkoff Initiative will be presented, along with information about how producers can support checkoff reform. A question and answer forum will be held.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for USCA representatives to meet with, and listen to, independent producers. USCA is pleased to host these dinner meetings, where we’ll give the latest information available on the issues but more importantly, we’ll be listening to what producers have to say,” said Jess Peterson. “With Farm Bill debate underway in the U.S. Senate, there is a great deal of information to share. Leo, Chuck and I are certainly looking forward to seeing everyone.”
